The construction of Elizabeth Castle began in 1550 during the reign of King Henry VIII. Its primary purpose was to protect Jersey from French invasion. The castle was named after Queen Elizabeth I, who visited the island in 1565.

Over the years, the castle underwent several modifications and expansions, with each phase adding to its grandeur. With its strategic position on a small rocky island, the fortress became a formidable stronghold, capable of defending Jersey against any attacker.

Walking through the walls of Elizabeth Castle feels like stepping into a time capsule. The castle's architecture and artifacts provide a glimpse into life during turbulent times.

Take a journey through the various exhibition rooms to learn about the castle's history and the significant events that unfolded within its walls. From the English Civil War to the German occupation during World War II, every corner of the castle tells a different story.

One of the most fascinating spaces is the Parade Ground. Here, you can witness reenactments of historical events, including military drills and cannon firings. It's an immersive experience that brings the past to life.

As you stroll through the well-maintained grounds, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Jersey coastline and the neighboring islands.

Don't miss out on the tidal causeway experience, a unique feature of Elizabeth Castle. At low tide, you can walk across the causeway from St. Helier to the castle, which adds an extra touch of adventure to your visit.

The castle's location on a small island also means you can enjoy a relaxing picnic by the sea or explore the beaches surrounding the fortress. It's a wonderful place to unwind and soak in the natural beauty of Jersey.

Tessa Harris never imagined going back to her childhood home. But when her Aunt Sylvia passes away her brother asks her to remodel the house he inherited to be sold. So she packs up her car and heads back to Willow Landing. Once there she finds the townsfolk not happy to see her and trouble begins to head her way.

Police Chief Mason Slade wasn’t any happier than the rest of the townsfolk that a Harris had come back to town. After fielding several reports of disturbances, he finally goes to confront Tessa himself. Instead of finding a troublemaker, he finds an attractive woman who wants nothing more than to remodel the old house and get out of town as quick as possible.

But the trouble has just started, and it’s directed at Tessa. Mason vows to find the person responsible for threatening Tessa and vandalizing her property. But as things get worse for Tessa, things start to heat up between Tessa and Mason. And Mason finds himself wanting to keep Tessa close to his side for always.

Note from author: "Going Home is a standalone title approximately 77,000 words. Tessa and Mason have a lot to overcome if they are to make their relationship work. These two people, though from the same town, are very different, but that's what I love about their relationship. I hope you enjoy reading their story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Please note the story contains adult sexual situations, but does not contain language that I personally consider vulgar. I hope you enjoy.” – Elizabeth Castle.
